About Özge Korkmaz
Özge Korkmaz completed her undergraduate, master's, and doctoral education in the Department of Econometrics, and before transitioning to academia, she worked as a financial advisor and specialist in private pension companies operating in the private sector.
Since her first academic publication, she has conducted research in various fields of economics. These studies mainly focus on energy, economic growth, inflation, firm profitability, factors influencing investor behavior, digital currencies, NFTs, price bubbles, the credit transmission mechanism, financial fragility, and financial stability.
It is noteworthy that Korkmaz has received awards for her various works, mostly in relation to her research in the field of finance. Together with Hamit Can, she received the “Outstanding Paper” award in 2020 from the “Emerald Literati Awards,” selected among all publications under Emerald Publishing.
Similarly, her joint works with Dr. E. Erer and Dr. D. Erer have earned awards from the Economic Research Foundation, the Participation Banks Association, and the Financial Science Platform.
Korkmaz’s résumé shows that she carries out both solo and co-authored studies in parallel and produces works that reflect team spirit in academia, alongside various administrative duties.
In this conjuncture, where it is increasingly evident that assessing existing theories in finance through individual emotions, thoughts, and external factors is crucial for making accurate predictions about the future of financial markets—and where adapting to technological changes is inevitable—Korkmaz aims to be part of this trend through her research.
